Embrace your enough-ness

love your life Oct 18, 2022

Girls do not dress for boys. They dress for themselves, and of course, each other. If girls dressed for boys, they'd just walk around naked at all times.

Is feeling self-confident really as simple as having a makeover? It gives your self-esteem an extra boost, but it doesn't necessarily improve your belief in yourself and your abilities.

A true makeover is far more than just your wardrobe. It's all about stepping into a mindset makeover to finally embrace your uniqueness and enough-ness.

At different times in our lives, our confidence in who we are, how we feel about ourselves and our place in the world is often mercurial - liable to sudden unpredictable change based on our mindset and the messages society gives us.

External validation feels good and it's natural and normal to want and enjoy it. We wait for the world to give us compliments, recognition and accolades to give us a glimpse into who they think we are.

(I love getting and giving compliments. There is a secret language of women. I believe that when we complement each other we are really saying *I see you I like you and we can be friends*)

Internal validation - giving ourselves permission to be and become - seems simple but isn't easy. It takes courage to live the most you version of you. It takes practice. I don't think we are ever *done* daring to live our most genuine existence.

One thing I know is clothes confidence is an important piece of the puzzle. The advances of aging often cause extra angst as well. Your style evolves as you do. Dressing your body well can be learned. It's not your fault no one ever taught you.

I want to know:

When you get dressed in the morning, do you hear the voices of the world (or your inner mean-girl) deciding that you are not *good enough* or *worthy* of your dreams because you don't like what you see in the mirror? Do you make the effort to show the world who you are? If you are wondering *why bother* consider this perspective.

I dress to impress = I am worthy.

Imagine what your life would be like if you stopped giving away your power. There is no greater tragedy than to see a woman succumb to how she imagines the world sees her instead of becoming who she was born to be. Decide how you want to live and dress to express who you are.

Feeling clothes confident isn't only about changing how you look. It is about changing how you feel about you look.

There will always be someone who doesn't see your beauty and your worth.

Don't let it be you.
